Loss

Title: Loss

Author: Meg

Fandom: Supernatural

Author's Notes: Take from CreativeWritingPrompts.com Prompt #165: Think of a memorable character (from a book, film or tv show). Craft a story about that character losing the most valuable thing he or she owns.

Characters: Dean Winchester (Supernatural).

Spoilers: "All Hell Breaks Loose" Parts One and Two.

He was so pale. So still. So lifeless -- no. He couldn't be gone.

It had to be a dream, nightmare. This wasn't right. Dean wiped his eyes tiredly, banishing the tears. This wasn't his Sam. His Sammy. It was a mistake. Sam was somewhere else waiting for him. This was someone else. He tried to convince himself, but deep down hidden in the core of all the pain he knew it wasn't true.

Dean stared almost sightlessly at his Sammy. There was no movement and all he could do was stare. How long he sat there staring he did not know. But as quick as lightning he had an idea...and it went against everything he believed in.

What's dead should stay dead.

And everything he fought so hard against. But it didn't matter because without Sammy nothing mattered, and the crossroads was only a few miles away.

And that's what happens when the urge to write takes over.

On the topic of Supernatural...the complete season 2 DVD set is to be released on September 11, 2007. And when I have more time I'll make a countdown that can count down (crazy, I know) the time between now (whenever now is) and 12:01 am September 11, 2007. I'll be in Vermont by then. Taking classes in college.

Friday Fives

The following questions are from the Supernatural Friday Five. The link is in my links list if you're interested.

1. What's the quality you admire the most about your favourite guest star?
I'm going to say four favorite guest stars because their character's share some of the same traits: Cassie (Route 666), Haylie (Wendigo), Kat (Asylum) and Sarah (Provenance). They all have great taste in guys, except for Kat because Gavin was kinda dumb (Haylie was so checking out Dean). They're all strong women. They're not the typical damsells in distress that one would see on tv. They think and try to help and make decisions on their own. Haylie refused to leave the woods until she found her brother. Cassie stood up to Mayor Todd. Kat rocks with a shot gun and refused to the Asylum without Gavin (even though he was kinda dumb). Sarah wouldn't let Dean and Sam leave her out. She took responsibility for her father's actions and helped them out by giving them the provenances. They all stood up for themselves. Cassie made Dean say 'please' how many other guest stars have done that? None that I can think of.

2. Of the characters we've met, who do you think acts the most like a mother figure (other than Mary) towards the boys?
I think Dean is Sam's mother figure. Dean is the one that raised him the most (from what we've seen in the flashbacks and heard in the show). Dean is the one that makes sure he's okay and is there to back him up. Ellen is a mother figure to both of them, or she tries to be. She kind of looked out for them up until the end of 'No Exit'. She offered them a place to stay and kept an eye on them.

3. How do you think the lack of a permanent female presence in their lives has affected the brothers?
I believe the lack of a permanent female presence in their lives makes it harder for them to talk to females. Not that they're bad at it (God knows Dean isn't having troubles), but I would think that it would be a skill they would have to develop. This is a hard question. I would guess that they had to do all the things that a mother would usually do for their kid, for themselves.

4. Do you believe the different lighting cast on characters in this show is of any significance at all? And if so, what do you believe it's an indication of?
Sure. I believe that. I think it some scenes the light cast on a character signifies understanding.

5. Recommend one or two fanfics in this fandom that you've really enjoyed. (Please include whether pairings if applicable.)
On Angel's Wings, On Angel's Wings 2 and On Angel's Wings 3 by Mummyluvr. I love these stories. No parings.
That Vision Thing by InSecret. No pairings. Great story.
I Thought I Saw by The Cat's Whiskers. No pairing. Not many people could make Dean turn into a panther and still have him stay in character. Awesome story.

^*^*^*^*^

These questions are from the Friday Five. The link is in my links list.

1. What is one healthy food you really, really like?
Apples. I love apples.

2. In what area of your life are you especially well-organized?
My computer life. My computer is so organized. I have folder upon folder on my computer, by bedroom is a mess.

3. Who is someone you’ve managed to stay in touch with?
Lisa. We've never actually met in person, but we talk on IM and we've managed to stay connected for about a year now despite schoolwork and work schedules.

4. What bad habit were you able to break (or what vice were you able to give up), and what was it like going through that change?
I'm working on breaking my habit of making blogs and e-mails that I have no use for. It's hard, but I know in my heart that this is the only blog I need and if I change my e-mail address again my friends will just decide that easier to not e-mail me at all.

5. Someone out there, whether you know it or not, wishes he or she were more like you in some way. What is it he or she most likely admires you for?
My ability to not care about what other people say about me. I like what I like and other people can deal.

^*^*^*^*^

I like these. If I read the Supernatural Virtual Season on Tuesday, watch Plastic!Winchester Theater on Wednesday, Watch new episodes of Supernatural on Thursday, and do these Friday Fives on Friday, then the only days I have to worry about withdrawl are Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Go me!!

It's Like My Brain Exploded And This Is The Result

I've been working in Photoshop and I made the graphic below for a site that I may or may not ever make.

I had to put it up here because my friend wants to see it, but I was unable to send it to her through IM.

^*^*^*^*^

I found a notebook that had some freewrite type things I did when I went to a weekly writing group with my Mom. I have alot of them actually. I'm going to put them up. The first four we were given a word and had ten minutes to write. The last four we had two minutes. These were all written on May 25, 2006.

Prompt 1: Fire
Burning, destroying, making new beginnings. Taking down the old to make room for the new. Why is it that it takes a disasterous event to make us think about our lives. When someone dies we wonder if we said "I love you" enough or try to recall the last time we talked to them. Why didn't we call more often? How come we were always busy?
A fire. At home, makes you wonder why? Maybe you weren't good enough. What did you do to deserve it? Why you? Why not the house next door, or no fire at all? Why wasn't the stove turned off? Shouldn't someone have checked to make sure the water heater wouldn't catch fire before putting it in your house? What if I had been home? Would I have been able to stop it? Call the fire department? Would I have gotten hurt? What if my family had been home?
Why must we ask the 'what if' questions? Can't we just be happy that we're safe, our family's safe, our friends are safe? Homes can be rebuilt. People can't. Savor the moment.

Prompt 2: Blue (This was supposed to be one long sentence)
Blue skies and blue waters; fresh laundry, is that what blue smells like, this reminds me of somebody's signature I've seen online, "what smells like blue?" What is blue to a dog, dogs are color blind, is blue non-existant; can they tell the difference between the color of water and that of grass, if not how do they know which is which? Is it the motion of the water or are grass and water different shades of grey, is it maybe that they lie down on one and hope they don't get wet because I would think that that would produce alot of wet dogs, and alot of smelly dogs, and that would be no fun at all.

Prompt 3: Elasti Girl
High fashion. Stick thin legs, curves, but only in the right places. Wearing the perfect outfit everyday. These are the rules set for what is percieved to be beautiful, are they not? Rules probably thought up by a guy, but ones that girls all over try to adhere to. Trying to reach unattainable goals, unrealistic perfection. The kind that is seen in the movies and magazine ads. Pictures that have most likely been photoshopped, editted to look better because nobody is perfect. Not even a woman.

Promt 4: "I don't remember the signifigance of these rocks."
I don't remember the signifigance of these rocks. I know the mean something. I remember them meaning something. Something special. To me. When I pick them up I feeltheir coolness fade as the heat from my hand warms them up, but I can feel in my soul that to me they are special, not ordinary. And I am sad because I cannot remember why they are special. I feel as if I am missing a part of me. I have forgotten something dear to me and it's as if I have forgotten a friend from long ago.

Prompt 5: Pineneedle
In my shirt. In my hair. How did a pineneedle get in my ice cream bowl? I'm inside.

Prompt 6: Clam
Clam digging. Mud, squelching, oozing. Sticking in my hand to take a clam. After two I call it quits. I'm done. No more for me.

Prompt 7: Harmony
Somedays unatytainable, standing in chorus and it sounds like everything we try to sing comes out bad. Sharp. Flat. Too high. Too low. Never right.

Prompt 8: Silly
Laughing uncontrollably. No reason I can think up.

^*^*^*^*^

I was flipping channels last night and ended up on TV Guide's "50 Sexiest Men on TV" special. I wrote down a few of them so that I could brag or whatever. I haven't been able to find a full list on line though.

Here's what I wrote down from TV Guide list of 50 sexy guys on tv:
#37 :: Jared Padalecki
#32 :: Mark Harmon
#28 :: Hugh Laurie
#27 :: Chad Michael Murray (yeah, even TV Guide thinks Jensen is hotter than you!)
#26 :: Jensen Ackles
#22 :: Justin Chambers
#21 :: Isiah Washington
#19 :: Tom Welling
#18 :: David Boreanaz
#12 :: James Denton
#8 :: John Stamos
#7 :: Jeffrey Dean Morgan
#5 :: Matthew Fox
#4 :: Wentworth Miller
#3 :: Julian McMahon
#2 :: Patrick Dempsey
#1 :: Josh Holloway

I'm very thankful that the entire cast of Supernatural is on this list (Hell Yeah!!) because the guys deserve it. Sometime in the near futre I will be printing out pictures and making my own list. I intend to include actors that are on show on channels like SCI-FI and Nickelodean because they've got some nice looking guys too (Michael Shanks, Ben Browder, Drake Bell, Jamie Bamber, etc). I also think that Justin Hartley should be on the list because, well, he's sexy. But I think this list was from last year because Jeffrey Dean Morgan is currently not on tv (RIP Denny Duquette and John Winchester). I would be interested in seeing a more updated list.

^*^*^*^*^

And no I have some more writing to post. I have three poems that I've done. I'm not really a poetry person, but the first one I wrote during the writing group thing on May 25, 2006. The other two I wrote for an English project and actually liked.

My Day
Slept in,
Got up late,
Went to school,
Wasn't late.

Sat through homeroom,
Read through Study Hall,
And History.

Science class we went outside,
in our groups we visited stations,
Learned how science is used in the military,
To ensure safe environments for men...and women to go in,
Communication trucks and T.O.C. vans.

In WebTeam we went outside,
A first for our computer geek class.

I have no recollection of English class,
I know I was there,
Why can't I remember what we did?

A sub in Math,
Finished my homework,
Thirty minutes more reading.

After school, with my friends,
Helping with Ryan's book talk,
Eating chocolate,
Reading the slogans -- fortune cookie like -- from the inside of Dove candy wrappers.

Playing the Sims,
Washing the dishes,
Watching season 2 episode of Atlantis that I haven't seen.

And now here,
Writing and sharing,
Letting free my creativity.

Last Night
Last night,
I was sixteen,
But tonight I am not,
Tonight I am seventeen.

One year older,
Everything's changed,
But nothing's different.
My friends are still my friends,
My hair still won't go up nicely,
And my homework still needs my attention.

Last night I was sixteen,
And tomorrow I will be eighteen,
But tonight I am seventeen,
And that's all that matters right now.

Have You No Sense? -Dedicated to Kathryn and Chris Wright
You drink,
You drive,
You'll hurt someone.
Many someones.

It's okay you've only had a few,
And you're always really careful.
You know the roadsd well,
And the weather's not that bad...

It'll be okay,
No harm,
No foul,
No one will even know,
That you drove drunk.
It'll be okay.

But it only takes once,
To ruin a life,
Your's or someone else's.
Why take the chance?

You drink,
You drive,
You take a life,
One that means something to someone else.

You should have stayed home,
Called a cab,
Passed on the last drink.
Have you no sense?

I think that's all for tonight. I've discovered Friday5.org and the Supernatural Friday Five community on LiveJournal so I'd like to try some of those out. I also discovered PicSpams this week. And what wonderful things they are. Anteka has some really great Supernatural ones on her LiveJournal. I don't know the address, but I encourage people to check them out.

Creative Writing Group: The Fruits Of My Labor

Prompt: Combine at least two of the following fairy tales into an at least slightly serious story: Snow white, Sleeping Beauty, Thumbelina, Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, Princess and the Pea, Pinocchio, and the Little Mermaid.

"I will have the best story!!"

"But sweetie, it's just--"

"I-Don't-Care!! Mine will be the best!"

This conversation sounded like many her and her daughter had had in the years past. Once a year actually, just weeks before the deadline for Write The Way's annual short story contest.

Since her daughter, Anna, had first heard about the contest 12 years ago she had wanted to win it. So every year Anna wrote out a new story, and every year it was better than she'd ever written before. And every year her story sounded something like "once upon a time there was a girl, who had a dog. They were best friends, and they played in the park and ran around together until the end of time. The end." And for the past 12 years Anna had been getting letters from Write The Right Way thanking her for her submission.

This year however, Anna was determined to win, even if it meant cheating to do it. Anna sat in the middle of her bedroom floor surrounded by letter laid on ripped open envelopes.

"What is this?!" Her mother questioned loudly.

These are all the stories that were going to be sent in. I'm using them for ideas to write my story." She wrote quickly in her notebook. "There. I'm done." She handed her mother the notebook. The story was like this:

Once upon a time there was a girl. She wore one glass slipper and one red sequined slipper. She had long hair and seven little people that followed her around. She was allergic to apples and peas and fell asleep alot. She liked to go into other peoples houses and eat the food and sleep in their beds. Her father was kidnapped by a mysterious beast that lived in a castle. She delivered baked goods to her grandmother and her sister was a mermaid. She lived happily ever after. The end.

"It's...lovely." Her mother told her.

"I'm going to send it in now."

"Okay. Honey."

^*^*^*^*^

My friend got me into the show Firefly, which has about 14 episodes and was cancelled in 2002. I'm quite bummed because I actually like the show. I can't wait to get my hands on the movie Serenity. I hope it's good. I'd heard from a different friend that it is.

I have to go now. I want to get some writing done on a story I'm writing, and I had a great idea for it in the shower earlier (most of my great inspirations come in the shower).

I Write, I Watch, I Create, I Cry During Supernatural

I just finished watching Jensen on the Megan Mullally Show. He is so hot! Okay, I'm better.

^*^*^*^*^

Two new writing prompt inspired stories. Both prompts are Salvador Dali pictures.

The inside of my mind. A mess of light and dark. Abeautiful sunrise graces the sky. The floating figure to the left would look religious to a normal person, but to me she is a ghost. Or maybe an angel.

A castle in the sky, like the Les Miserables song "Castle on a Cloud." I t floats above the earth and the creatures on it.

To me they are unicorns, the figures leading them, faeries. The land looks dark, but I'm sure that as the sun rises in the sky everything will lighten. The path will be illuminated by the rays of the sun.

All will be well in the light. The darkness will fall again as I wake up and all the beings will prepare themselves for when I fall asleep. For they are my imagination, and at night I dream.

^*^*^*^*^

I stand at the bow of my ship. The crew behind me is still. We stare up at the large fingures before us. Women, I would think, but I am no expert. A shuffle of feet beind me. We are drifting towards an island of rock I notice, yet nobody wants to break the silence. I know that once someone speaks up and we correct our course we will not be able to slip back into the moment of awe we are caught in now. Maybe this was what they were built for, to keep strangers out by distracting them while they into some of the numerous rock outcroppings in the water.

"Veer to starboard," I call and hear the phrase repeated to the crew. The ship moves beneath my feet. We avoid the rocks. I look back to the figures, but the moment is lost.

^*^*^*^*^

I watched "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" (again) with my sis in the middle of this post. She started laughing at me when I looked over after as it played the credits and wiped my eyes. Yeah, I cried. Jensen's just that good an actor. Only a few things can make me cry, and the speech at the end of "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" is one of them.

^*^*^*^*^

I have Photoshop at home now and I love it. Photoshop may be the only program that makes me look artistically talented. And it helps that it's really hard to make something with Jensen in it look bad. Here's the desktop picture I made yesterday following an online tutorial. I'm just learning to use the program.

I think that's it for now. Supernatural is on tonight and I'll probably be on later to post my comments on the episode.

Love and Peace!

Creative Writing & "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"

Prompt: Why is a kidnapper afraid of the dark?

He wasn't a bad person, just not a particularly good person either. It wasn't like he enjoyed hurting these people, but he needed the money.

It was the middle of the night and he'd locked this man's kids in the coat closet across the hall. The man and his wife sat on their bed, hands entwined. They refused to be separated. It didn't matter much to him, as long as they didn't try anything.

All the lights in the house stayed off during his break in. He didn't want any night owl neighbors getting suspicious. The house was dark, it was a neccessity, one he didn't like.

The dark was full of unknowns and people who did bad things, like him.

It was night when his mother was murdered and it was night when his father died in his sleep. The dark scared him, and it always would, but what scared him even more was that he had become one of the bad things in the dark.

^*^*^*^*^

The next piece of writing is based on the painting The Tower by Salvador Dali. I was handed a printed off copy of the picture and told to write.

A poorly constucted tower, one window and one door, but a tower none the less. Not only a towerm but a sign of hope. The only place I would truely be safe. Safe from drugs, alcohol, cars, radiation, bad people, life. Nothing could hurt me in this safe place, with it's perfect sunset, sandy beaches and glorious ocean.

The one door made sense, only one place to go from here: the real world. And the window, aimed not at the beach, but at the outside world.

This place is my sanctuary, but to live a real life I must experience the world outside of my mind. Meet new people and take chances.

I will control my own destiny. This tower is my back-up plan.

^*^*^*^*^

And now...Supernatural: My review of "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things".

I've seen it twice today, I didn't get to watch it when it aired last night. Thank god YouTube. And the wonderful people on there. Rhindon, BuenaEngel, and MyPoems32 are my heros. All three of them had the entire episode up today.

It seems that the lines I liked were liked by others as well. Rather than watching the episode again right now I'm copying lines that people have put in reviews. And I'll try to remember the right wording for lines nobody noted.

As a note: some of this is dirty, and it's not my fault. I didn't write the lines used on the show. I just write my little pieces about it.

"Next on the skin channel, cosmic erotica 4 the tale of two Latin beauties."
Sam, you dirty, dirty boy. Now we know what Sam does while Dean goes to the bars to pick up girls. It's good to know that Sam is actually a guy. Dean's expression when he comes in the room is, as LanaLang1 (of youtube.com) put it, 'I totally know what you were doing'. I like that the box, or paper on the top of the tv says 'XXX' and can be seen in various parts of the scene.

Dean "We've got to burn the bones"
Sam "Burn the bones?...Are you high?"
I agree with LanaLang1 (of youtube.com), Dean's expression is priceless. He looks like he's trying to decide whether or not he's high.

Sam: "What the hell's the matter with you, Dean."
Dean: "Back off."
-------
Sam: "Stop it, that's enough okay! Enough!"
Dean: "Sam, I know what I'm doing."
Sam: "No, you don't. At all. Dean, I don't scare easy, but man, you are scarin' the crap outta me."
Dean: "Don't be over dramatic Sam."
Sam: "You're lucky this turned out to be a real case, 'cuz if it wasn't you woulda just found something else to kill."
Dean: "Wha--?"
Sam: "You're on edge, you're erratic. Except for when you're hunting. 'Cuz then you're down right scary. You're tailspinning man. And you refuse to talk about it. And you won't let me help you."
Dean: "I can take care of myself, thanks."
Sam:" No, you can't. And you know what? You're the only one who thinks you should have to. You don't have to handle this on your own, Dean. No one can."
Dean: "Sam, if you bring up Dad's death one more time I swear..."
Sam: "Please, Dean, it's killing you, please. We've already lost Dad. We've lost Mom. I've lost Jess. And now I'm going to lose you too?"
Go Sam!! Older siblings don't like needing help. The very last line of that makes me sad. They've both lost so many people. I'm Sam said all this stuff. Dean helped Sam with Jess's death and the visions in the first season, and now it's Sam 's turn to help Dean. And he needs help, lots of it.

Dean: "Hello! Neil! It's your grief counselors. We've come to hug."
I love Dean. I love the one-liners. I'd take a hug.

Dean: "Well, it takes two to, you know, have hard-core sex."
Another great one-liner.

I love the very last scene. Before I had watched it my friend had 'ambushed' me in school: "Did you watch it? Oh my god, I can't believe he cried!" Me: "What?!!!" I'm really glad they played the last scene the way they did. Where Dean figures out that their Dad sacrificed himself for him(Dean). And then he turns to Sam and asks the question that got me very close to crying: "You wanted to what I was feelin', well that's it. So tell me, what could you possibly say to make that all right?" I wanted to jump into the computer and give Dean a hug (moreso than I usually do I mean). I'm glad he didn't just break down and start sobbing. I think that would have been ALOT much.

I liked this episode. I thought Dean was scarier last episode when he killed the vampire with that huge saw, but this epi he wasn't even thinking things through completely with regards to the case. He kept jumping to conclusions. I liked the fake ceremony to lure Angela to her grave. It was a really smart idea.

Creative Writing Group: What I Accomplished This Time

These were written on Thursday, before Supernatural.

Freewrite: In their eyes.

hmmm...This is different. I haven't done a freewrite in a while. I like my new "e"'s. They are kind of square. In their eyes. Okay, so the group next door is the Gay-Straight Alliance. The entire world makes sense now. I have to put my hair up now. Done. In their eyes. I love eyes. You can tell so much from a person's eyes. Some people have really expressive eyes. Have you noticed that a couple of shows use a difference in eyes to figure out who the bad guy is? That doesn't make much sense, but it's true. In the show Stargate SG-1 the bad guy's eyes glow yellow. And in Supernatural, which is on tonight woohoo!!, a telltale sign of a demon is completely jet black eyes. It's wild. And Big Bad, the worst demon of them all has bright yellow eyes.

^*^*^*^*^

Prompt: B vitamins are for stress.

"B? Why B?"

"B vitamins are known to reduce stress."

Why B? If they reduce stress why aren't they S vitamins?"

"There's no such thing as an S vitamin."

"Says who? You?"

"No, that's just how it is."

"But why B? There's no B in stress. Who thought these up anyway?"

"Not me. Just let it go."

No! B vitamins should reduce bloating and, and, birth rates, ya!, birth rates, that's it."

"But they don't. They help to reduce stress."

"I'm going to have B vitamins renamed S vitamins."

"That's just dumb."

"You're just jealous because you didn't think of it first. I'm going to be rich. Then I think I'll discover X vitamins. I'll be a gazzillionaire, living in a castle, taking my S vitamins for stress."

^*^*^*^*^

I LOVE SUPERNATURAL!! That had to be put in caps.

Two Jensen-Themed Short Stories

I have to say: I am so glad that the season premiere of Supernatural was better than how I wrote it. I watched it on tv, then spent a few minutes where I could only squeak because I liked it so much. Then the next day I watched it before school (great way to start a day) and it was the only thing I could talk about during school.

First story thing I did is based on the second season episode of Dark Angel named "The Berrisford Agenda".

Use this in a story:
And even if he did, there would be nothing else to do.

The man was going to kill him. he couldn't get his hands free of the cuffs, and even if he could, what would be the point? it was his fault the man's daughter had been hurt. He had planted the bomb after all.

'But it was your job.' Alec's rational mind reminded him him. 'And you tried to warn her.'

'Yeah, look how that turned out. She's probably dead and it's all my fault.'

"What happened to her?"

"She hit her head when she fell, she fell into a coma. She's been dying for two years. Do you know what it's like to watch someone you love slip away a little everyday? Do you know what you've done?" This was her father, Robert Berrisford, he was understandably angry. The gun he held in his hand looked quite unfamiliar there.

"Just do it." Alec told Robert, get this whole mess over with. Berrisford raised the gun and knocked to the ground, unconscious, by a short, slender woman Alec recognized as Max.

"I told you to talk to me before this mess got out of hand." Max berated him as she unlocked the handcuffs.

"And I told you to leave me alone." He walked out, leaving Max alone with her thoughts and an unconscious Berrisford.

^*^*^*^*^

Explain your pretty pea green shoes.

"Oh, they're gorgeous!! I love them." She looked the shoes over once more. "Can I get them, Mom?"

"Absolutely. Get whatever you want."

She grabbed the adorable pea green strappy sandal heels, and headed immediately to the dress section. She stuck out her hand and touched a few of the dresses. Her hand paused on a pink, frilly dress with short sleeves, sequins and beads. She pulled it off the rack. Her size.

The dressing room was empty and she changed quietly in one of the stalls. The mirror inside was tall enough and she admired her reflection. The dress fell just above her knees and flared about when she spun.

'It's perfect.' She slipped the green shoes on her feet.

"I love it. Now all I need is a date."

"Umm. Can I help you?" The voice was soft, confident, and familiar. She spun around. The stall door was open and standing in the doorway looking unbelievably sexy was Jensen Ackles.

"This cannot be happening." She muttered.

--You want me! Come find me! Make up your mind!!--

She opened her eyes and looked at her alarm clock, then sat straight up in bed.

"What the--"

"Meghan, get up!!"

"That was such a weird dream."

^*^*^*^*^

I wrote these Thursday afternoon. I was super hyped up about it finally being the day for the season premiere of Supernatural. That's why they are Jensen themed (Jensen Ackles was Alec in Dark Angel, and is Dean Winchester in Supernatural). The alarm clock in the second piece plays Evanescence's new song "Call Me When You're Sober" which I love. So much fun to sing along with.

Good night all (or good morning, or good afternoon, depending where you live, or when you read this)

These are supposed to be drabble words for Stargate stories. I may end up using them for short Stargate stories or non-Stargate stories. I doubt any of the stories I write will be a hundred words long.

I have two more prompts that I'm going to start writing the rest of the day and finish when I get home.

I'm having a lot of fun on here. I've missed writing. It's a lot of fun to start and finish a story in the same night, rather than it taking months or a year.

Old Proverbs Hold True...Most Of The Time

Yesterday I had to do an SAT essay, which I'm not allowed to discuss, but this kinda reminded me of what I was writing about.

It has been said, "It is not the destination that makes the journey worthwhile." Describe some of the times in your life when this proverb held true.

This proverb olds true a lot in my life. When I build websites I think up a design and draw it out and build it. I try to do things that I've never done before, or have little experience in when I make a new site. When I finish that project I'm pleased that I was able to accomplish it, but it was more fun for me to have a project that I was focused on, that made me think and look up new things. I have more fun when I'm working on something, even if I'm stuck and it annoys me, than when I finish and I'm trying to think of a new project to apply myself to.

I have been in a situation when the proverb did not hold true. When I went to Westpoint Military Academy for the Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts Invitational Camporee with my girl scout troop we had to sit in a car for nine hours to drive there. We got in a small accident on the way and it was boring. In that case spending the time at Westpoint made travelling out of my home state worthwhile.
