I maanaged to stumble across the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on the interwebz. Yes,I have heard of them before and I've heard them sing (not in person). Tonight I flipped through some YouTube vids, and came across this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYLNvhF79OM. I would embed it so you could wath it without going to YouTube, but embedding is disabled and I'm to lazy and tired to do it anyway. The song they are singing in that video is "Battle of Jericho." I searched for that song specifically because Chamber Singers at my high school sang it when I was a freshman and it was amazing. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir does it better, but Chambers didn't slaughter it.

Daycare...How Do Parents Do It?
My sister borrowed my laptop today and it made me think about parents and daycare. How do parents leave their children in other people's care, when I can't even leave my laptop with my sister for a day?
Leviathan is my baby. I have basically my entire life on my laptop. My schedule, my writing, my web stuff, my art work, EVERYTHING.
Thankfully, my baby is safe with me again and I'm posting this from her.

I Miss WebTeam
I miss the freeformed learning of WebTeam. I never thought I'd be opposed to structured learning, but I am. I absolutely hate the following phrase: "And your going to learn about that in a later course." Grrr...NO! Why can't we learn the things we want to and be taught things in a logical order that doesn't require the teacher to say dumb shit like that. I'm taking a database class where we have done the theory behind databases and designing them and now we're starting our work in MySQL, but we're not going to get any teaching on how to make atabases work WITH a website. Like how to call information from a database with a website or for a website. To me it juyst makes sense to have that included in the course, but whatever. Also, if we don't take some design classes VERY, VERY soon, the internet is going to be populated with even more hideous, ugly websites. And they're going to be made by Web majors that are like "here's my website. It's standards complient, works on all web browsers and the code is gorgeous." And I'm going to be looking at these sites with my "WTF" face going "but it's ugly!!"
I think that's all I had to say. Night everyone.

The OMG High School's Over Break Down
I've heard rumors of the OMG High School's Over Break Down, but I didn't think it would happen to me. Actually, that's not true...I told my friends that I would have my breakdown in the middle of the summer when there was no one for me to cry on. I was pretty close. Not the middle of the summer, the middle of the night 1:15 am on June 14, 2007. I couldn't call anyone, for obvious reasons. Luckily I was able to wake my sister and cry on her for about fifteen minutes. And what caused my breakdown you ask: the thought of saying good-bye to my closest friends? No, still not thinking about that. The thought of moving to a new state and having to support myself? No, trying to not think about that one. It was the act of writing a thank you note (letter, novella) to my favorite teacher. I have to go back in to school tomorrow and get my copy of Aquila and give my PALS shirt back. And I wanted to give a thank you note (it really is closer to a novella) to my favorite teacher. It took me an hour to write and more tissues than I wish to disclose. Thankfully I didn't cry or get snot on the letter, and didn't have to start over. But now it's getting close to three in the morning and I have to get up and to the school before nine (it'll be easier to go in before 3rd period exam ends, because the teacher I need to get my Aquila from had my English class 3rd period, so hopefully she'll be there and she won't have a class).
On a lighter note I have reconnected with my love of Pokemon. My guy friends have all been playing Pokemon on their various handheld game consoles (Nintendo DS and the likes), and it made me want to pull out my GameBoy Advanced and Pokemon Sapphire. So I took them with me on the Project Grad trip and since Sunday I've played for about 11 hours. It's an addictive game.
I went out to Borders and Target tonight (last night?) with my Dad. At Borders I picked up the book "What is the What?" by Dave Eggers. It's a required reading book at Champlain and I wanted to get an early start on it. I can reread it later in the summer if I need to. At Target I bought the first season of Veronica Mars. I've watched eight or nine episodes so far. I have no life. It's a cool show, I'll miss it next year.
I love writing. I feel so much better already. I'm going to do a little reading and then go to bed so I can get up tomorrow.

We've Been Cited
My friend Monique (who is the co-owner of Serendipity with me) is writing her senior paper on blogs (I wrote mine on celebrities and why people idolize them. note to self: post a copy of my senior paper on here). Monique and I have lots of things in common: web design, going to Champlain next year, NCIS, Supernatural, and odd sources for our senior paper. I managed to cite two of the IMDb.com message boards in my senior paper: Jensen Ackles and Clay Aiken. Monique manage to cite...me. She talked about how blogs can be used to talk about favorite tv shows (I'm the perfect example of this). I haven't read her paper, but maybe when she's finished I can put a piece of it on here to prove that I've been cited in a school project, and senior paper is a large part of the senior English grade.

School Returns
School is back full time now. Classes, homework, teachers, high school drama, the whole nine yards. I really have have to get back into writing. Writing is like a release for me. I have to find a time to do it between sleep, school, girl scouts, extra-curricular activities, homework and television.
I'm getting braces on tomorrow. Kinda nervous.
I found a site just recently that has stuck with me: http://fate.rooniverse.net/. The site is the home for this person's virtual television show. The basic idea is that you make up characters and write stories in script form. I don't know why it's stuck with me, but it has and I want to try it. In the case of Fate (the site at the address above), the writer is writing scripts with Dawn Summers (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as the/a main character.
I think that's it for now. I'm kinda late for bed and I have to get myself up and to the orthodontist tomorrow.

Old Proverbs Hold True...Most Of The Time
Yesterday I had to do an SAT essay, which I'm not allowed to discuss, but this kinda reminded me of what I was writing about.
It has been said, "It is not the destination that makes the journey worthwhile." Describe some of the times in your life when this proverb held true.
This proverb olds true a lot in my life. When I build websites I think up a design and draw it out and build it. I try to do things that I've never done before, or have little experience in when I make a new site. When I finish that project I'm pleased that I was able to accomplish it, but it was more fun for me to have a project that I was focused on, that made me think and look up new things. I have more fun when I'm working on something, even if I'm stuck and it annoys me, than when I finish and I'm trying to think of a new project to apply myself to.
I have been in a situation when the proverb did not hold true. When I went to Westpoint Military Academy for the Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts Invitational Camporee with my girl scout troop we had to sit in a car for nine hours to drive there. We got in a small accident on the way and it was boring. In that case spending the time at Westpoint made travelling out of my home state worthwhile.
