I had a conversation with a friend of mine a couple days ago. We both like to write, but seldom find the time to do it, even though we both have blogs that we could be updating. And that got me thinking about this place. Obviously it's been a while since I posted, but I do really enjoy blogging. With the amount of interesting things that I find on the internet everyday that I just really need to share with someone, or even just put somewhere and talk out my feelings about, blogging could be really good for me.

So, I guess the point of this is that I intend to start posting here more. I do not promise high quality everyday. And it won't always be one thing or another. I hope to post a mix of videos, my writing, pictures and just talking about links or something happening in my life.

I'll start right now with an update on my life. I have the same Dunkin' Donuts job that I've had since I graduated high school. Except now instead of working nights, I'm the Assistant Manager and I work a dark o'clock early in the morning. It's been an interesting transition for this night owl, but I still enjoy it. I am still working my way through college with online classes. I do participate in NaNoWriMo every year (I think I'm pretty good at keeping my sidebar updated with that). I tried Camp NaNoWriMo in August this year and didn't even break 7k. I am still very much a James McAvoy fangirl. I would appreciate it a lot if TPTB would release one of the three movies he filmed last year and early this year (or even Arthur Christmas! Give me anything.). I am still in love with X-Men: First Class. I have grown this love by attending a fan meetup for XMFC and starting to read X-Men comics. I am of legal drinking age (I was the last time I posted, but now I've found people that I can be around and drink and just have a good time). I like drinking, but I'm responsible about it. I saw Train in concert on Saturday. It was fantastic.

I think that's it for tonight. I've got comics that I really want to read. Expect the layout and design to change.

New Found Love, WoW, NaNoWriMo 2011, Work

I have fallen in love...again. It happened when I bought the X-Men: First Class DVD and watched it for the first time in the living room with Mom. See, there's this actor in it (a bunch actually) and he caught my eye. His name is James McAvoy, and he played Charles Xavier. I have liked the previous X-Men movies (though I think I've blocked out 3 and never watched the Wolverine one) and have quite the crush on James Marsden (yes, it is tiring being in love with this many men at once). But First Class... Oh man, I've never been so keen on Professor X. Yeah, Patrick Stewart is cool (he's got a 'sir'), but I mostly watched the first too for Cyclops. I absolutely adore the relationship between Charles and Erik in this movie. It's like the tragic love story of Charles and Erik, and there are some other people there too. I love how McAvoy played Charles. It's very fun, but the character still seems wise beyond his years. The flirting and partying was great (very funny and made the character feel more real), but he's also very adept at filling this role of mentor (parent?) that all the kids (and Erik) truly need.

Also, James McAvoy is adorable. I have a couple videos. I can't share them with the friends that I talk to the most because they haven't seen the movie (for the first one) and I don't want to keep throwing random McAvoy videos at them (the second one, I can only get away with so many before they start to get annoyed).

I advise that you do not watch this video if you haven't seen X-Men: First Class.

Moving on, WoW has been going well. New information about 4.3 keeps coming out, so we're in a bit of a slump in terms of staying excited for the content that exists. We have finally conquered the Zandalari heroics. They are still a challenge and we mostly queue up in groups for protection, but we can do them now, and that is fantastic. We gotten some new members. Someone I recruited from the Guild Finder offered to be a recruitment officer for the guild, and it's nice to see another person so excited about us doing stuff as a guild.

NaNoWriMo is coming. I have the 2011 badge up on the sidebar, and I've logged into the new and improved website. I, of course, don't have a plot idea or characters (though if previous years are a sign then my male main character will probably look like James McAvoy).

Work is going well for me. I'm really tired and ready for a day off. This is day 9 of 11 without a day off because I'm spending the weekend with my sister at college. We're also trying to transition to a new way of doing some of the chores and to fall (as opposed to summer), but the weather is confusing people and we're still doing summer business, instead of slowing down for fall and winter. It's making everything quite hectic there, but we're all surviving so far.

Hopefully that is all from me for today. I have one thing I want to look up. Then I have to get my butt in gear and get ready for work.

Script Frenzy: I Didn't Suffer Enough Last Year

This won't be a long, or very well formatted post because I'm on my phone and apparently all the editing it does when I text is not something that carries over to using safari. Also, it won't turn on its side so that the buttons are bigger.

I really have no idea what I'll be doing for my script, but I've been watching a lot of Psych, so I'll probably end up to a Psych fanfic in script form. Erin is planning on trying SF with me, so I'll be familiarizing myself with Celtx tonight and tomorrow to be ready for he first.

The First Post of 2010

It's 2010 and so much has happened since I last posted here, and yet there's not much about those months that I feel like sharing. There is some though, so here it goes.

I won NaNoWriMo for the third time in November. I updated the side bar to have the 2009 winner banner. I had to write 14k on the last day to win it, but I did do it.

I am still very much a fan of Heroes, Star Trek and Zachary Quinto. I'm very excited for tonight's new episodes of Heroes.

I tried to go to sleep an hour ago, but couldn't. I've been wanting to get back to blogging, and writing in general, so now I'm on the couch with my netbook watching The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. I had forgotten how much I love these movies. I clearly remember my obsession with everything related to them, but I'm glad that even now that the obsession has passed they are still entertaining to me. I'll decide once I've finished this one if I want to move onto the next movie or actually go to bed.

The princess of the house (Powder cat) is trying to decided where she wants to be laying.

I've been working, but for the most part I've been playing a lot of WoW. If I continue to blog more I plan to make tags for each of the characters I play the most, so that I can write on here about the progress I make with them. Not many people in the real world care to hear about them and my guildies don't care because their not all 80 and completely geared. I love my guildies, but the game is more about knowing your character than having the best gear and being a flawless raider. And on top of that, it is a game and I enjoy leveling and playing each character at my whim, not forcing myself to grind to get to the endgame content, especially when the endgame moves so often.

I think that's it for now. Powder has settled on the back of the couch by my head and Aragorn has just been introduced to the story as Strider, the Ranger. Good night!

Still Alive

Still alive over here. Not too much has changed. I'm still very into Star Trek. I've watched The Original Series and the first 4 movies (as well the Star Trek XI). I've watched all of Heroes now and enjoy it very much. My love for Zachary Quinto is still strong. As is my love for Leonard Nimoy. I just finished watching an older show called Jake 2.0. It was very cute. A lot like Chuck.

Work's going really well for me. I've been working 6 day weeks, but it's okay. I like the job and I like most of the people.

Another Blog...Really?

No, not really. I don't plan on using it. I swear. I made a blog at Posterous (this one is mine: http://gotnothin.posterous.com/) to see what it was like. The layout of mine is apparently the only one available. I really like it though. It's very clean and neat. It's something I may emmulate when I finally redesign Excited-Geek again (which hopefully will be soon).

Well, I have to work tomorrow, though I'm not sure when. So I'm gonna check my schedule and turn in for the night (or do some of the reading for my class at least).

Wow, I fail!

So, I've been kinda busy, but not really. I started back at work and I'm in season six of The X-Files now. I also watched all of the first season of Chuck and I'm almost caught up with the episodes of season two that have aired. It's such a cute show.

I've spent the better part of today watching Chuck and The X-Files (I switch back and forth) while working on the redesign of my portfolio. Once a year or so, I completely redo the site and then I ignore it until I redesign it the next year. It's just how it works. I finished the design and I'm working on putting the content in now. I'll post again tonight (if I remember) with all the episodes of show I've watched and how I've felt about them.

Erin and I watched the Christmas episode of Doctor Who. I liked it. I'm glad that guy's not the new Doctor. I've seen the guy they've chosen for Eleven and I'll give him a chance. He's really young, but he's still like eight years older than me (so still out of my age range).

Dr. Horrible, Roswell, 21, Stargate Atlantis & More

I haven't posted in a while and figured that now is the time to do it. I have a couple of things to blog about, so here goes.

Dr. Horrible. Love it! I just checked the play count on my iTunes copy of Dr. Horrible and I've watched Act I 4 times, Act II 2 times and Act III 1 time. I've watched it 3 or four times all the way through on my iPod too. It turns out that Dr. Horrible has the ability to make sweeping and mopping at Dunkin Donuts more fun. I like that I can listen to it on my iPod while mopping without watching it. I love Dr. Horrible in ways that I can't even describe. I'll compare my love for it to my love for Stargate Atlantis and Supernatural. That should give some idea at least. I love the cast. Neil Patrick Harris is amazing. I loved Nathan Fillion in Firefly, but I didn't know he could sing. I can't think of anyone who could play Captain Hammer better than Nathan Fillion. Felicia Day has a very pretty voice. I love the way Billy (Dr. Horrible) trips over his words (especially around Penny). I love that the last line of the first act is "Balls". I love Joss Whedon. I loved the fangirls and boy in the third act. As I write this I'm adding to the play count by watching it again. I'm going to share it with my friends on Saturday. Bring my laptop to the party we're finally having and making them watch it. Now I just have to get Erin to watch with me.

Roswell. I've been watching Early Edition (and older show that I watched as a kid, I'll more about it later in this post) and I was complaining to my Dad that I was having trouble getting the episodes. He told me to watch Roswell. He told me that I'd be caught in 12 minutes. God damn, I didn't even make it to the title before I was hooked. I'm a very shallow person and I love Jason Behr as Max Evans. I've seen the entire first season, it's online for free at http://hulu.com/. Now I have to get my hands on the second and third seasons. I'm thinking I'll buy a set of all three seasons.

Early Edition. Early Edition is a show from the 90s about a guy who gets tomorrow's paper every morning. It starred Kyle Chandler (now in Friday Night Lights). Every morning he wakes up at 6:30am to find tomorrow's Chicago Sun Times and a cat sitting outside his door. I remembered watching this when I was younger and bought it when I saw the first season DVD set at WalMart. It was fun to rewatch it. I'm in season four now, almost finished.

21. I just finished watching the movie 21. I liked it. And I think this comfirms my love for Jim Sturgess, as if Across the Universe hadn't already done that for me.

Stargate Atlantis. I watched "The Seed" on Saturday. I'll be getting the new episodes from iTunes until I get back to school and have the SciFi channel. I liked the episode. It wasn't as good as "Search & Rescue" (though, really, how can you beat that episode?). I think it was because the episode was the introduction of Woolsey to the regular cast. Because they were trying to introduce him the main plot got pushed to the side. However, it had whump and that's a trend starting for this season that I'm fine with (really, I am!). Erin and I joke that SGA has added a new writer to the cast: a fanfic writer. Convulsions, surgery, internal bleeding. All in the first two episodes. We approve. Can't wait for the next episode. I haven't even seen the commercial for it.

Okay, it's thundering and lightning here, and I'm almost through with watching Dr. Horrible again, so I guess I'll finish this up and shut down.

Yay! Money!!

I worked from noon 'til 9pm tonight. It was a long time to be standing and by about 7m basic counting was starting to get hard for me, but it was fun and I'd like to think that I was helpful.

I'm going to go down to my bedroom and read the first chapter of Twilight, so there should be a post or two following this one tonight. Then I have to go to bed because I'm working at my Aunt's daycare tomorrow and have to be up early (and pleasant too).

I Can Haz A Job and Twilight

I have a job. I am working at the Dunkin Donuts in my town. It's a lot of fun. I like the people I'm working with and the customers are pretty nice, most of the time. Dunkin Donuts is such a huge change from working at the Miller Information Commons (Champlain College Library). It's definitely two completely different jobs. The library was very slow. Dunkin Donuts is very fast paced and it's been a hard transition, but I think I'm doing pretty well with it.

Twilight. I cannot wait for the Twilight movie to come out. Okay, I can wait, but it will be hard. I'm so excited. I watched the clips on MTV.com of Laura Culpepper, the guest blogger meeting Robert Pattinson and watching the scene and her interview with him. And I've watched the scene they've shown and the preview like a million times each. I'm so excited!!

I am adding a Robert Pattinson tag, because I'm sure that by December 12th, when the Twilight movie comes out, I will have more to say about him. He is playing Edward after all. I've also added a tag for the Twilight book series because I don't even know why I didn't have a tag for that already. And I've added tags for work at the MIC and work at Dunkin Donuts, for when I need to complain about work sucking up all my free time and keeping me from getting any writing done.

Well, night for now. I'm working at noon tomorrow and I'm not sure yet when I'll be getting out. Sometime between 6pm and 10pm. Making money is fun.
